Micaela got her first camera at 12 and has been shooting ever since. Her first subject was her little sister Caitlin in their tiny rent controlled apartment in Manhattan. She studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland.

Since then, she has balanced personal photographic projects with editorial and commercial work. She has traveled to Alaska, Liberia, the Dominican Republic, Scotland, Paris, Vietnam, Japan and such exotic US locales as Northern Michigan and Mississippi in search of inspiring subjects.

Her work has been exhibited in New York City at Stricola Gallery, CBGB’s Gallery 313 , The Griffin Gallery, Hope and Anchor, 718 Gallery, and at Stream in Andes, NY.

Micaela is also a photo editor and producer and has worked with a variety of publications and agencies including Art + Commerce, Allure, Departures, Food & Wine, the Daily, Lucky, and Cosmopolitan.

Currently, she lives in Brooklyn with her husband Sam, a carpenter and designer and their dog Gracie. She really hates writing about herself in the third person but can’t figure out how else to make her bio sound legit.
